RESIDUAL PRESSURE VALVE W/FITTINGS, 10 PSI, RED

Wilwood 2, 4 and 10 PSI residual pressure valves retain a minimum brake line pressure to help eliminate excessive pedal travel in both disc and drum brake systems. The 2 PSI valves are commonly used in disc brake applications where the master cylinder is either mounted lower than, or in operation is lower than, the horizontal plane of the calipers and fluid drain back occurs due to gravity, thereby causing excessive caliper piston retraction and a longer brake pedal stroke. The minimal 2 PSI residual pressure prevents fluid from flowing back without causing excessive brake drag. With drum brakes, a 10 PSI valve is used to compensate for return spring tension and maintain wheel cylinder sealing in the drums. The 4 PSI valves are commonly installed in the front or rear brake circuits to aid with piston/pad knockback issues. Residual pressure valves are made from billet aluminum and color coded for easy identification. Valves with fittings are supplied with two 1/8-27 NPT to 3/8-24 SAE inverted flare female fittings that will fit most 3/16th hard brake lines.
