C4 CORVETTE, 1988-1996, ø340mm C6 Z51

The KORE3 ø340mm C5/C6 Z51 Front Big-Brake Kit for the 4th generation Corvette applications adapts high-performance, high-quality, 5th/6th generation (C5/C6) Z51 Corvette brake components to your base or ZR1 C4 Corvette.

C5/C6 Z51 front components are a significant improvement over the original equipment brake options found on the late C4 applications. The C6 Z51 rotors measure ø340mm x 32mm thick (ø13.4" x 1.26") and provide higher brake torques and additional thermal mass for more aggressive, sustained driving.

C5/C6 front calipers are pressure cast aluminum with full width stiffening ribs in order to maximize caliper rigidity, extend service life, and improve pedal firmness and feel, all in a compact, lightweight package. The C6 calipers are interchangeable with the C5 calipers and are approximately 25% more rigid due to additional material across the bridge of the calipers. Both C5 and C6 calipers have twin ø40.5mm pistons and utilize a pad abutment design, where the braking torque is transmitted directly from the pads into the pad abutment brackets and the spindles to which they are mounted, leading to better performance you can feel at the pedal. These pin-guided calipers are a huge step up from the factory pad-guided PBR caliper designs, offering greater stiffness and pad volume in a more reliable package.

There is excellent aftermarket support for C6 Z51 rotors and C5/C6 brake pads to suit nearly anybody's needs and/or budget. This ø340mm KORE3 big-brake kit is the smallest kit that we offer for the 1988-19996 C4 applications providing more thermal capacity for those who push their cars to the limits. The Z51 brakes will require at least ø18" or larger wheels for adequate wheel to brake clearance.
